It’s Christmas and I want to give all my readers a wonderful gift. What better way to show my appreciation, than to give you all a link, to the best resource site I’ve stumbled upon this year?
StomperNet is a membership site (sold out for the time being), that acts as an online resource for people, who are in the business of e-commerce (bloggers and other online businesses benefit from this site as well). It’s run by a long line of big names, such as Don Crowther, Ed Dale, Andy Edmonds, Sherman Hu and the list goes on.
Going Natural 2.0
Since this site is a pay site, I want to talk about the amazing free content available at Stompernet.com. The big deal is a series of 30-minute (give or take) videos, hosted by Andy Jenkins, Going Natural 2.0. There are only three videos to date, but there’s a new one every week. You can keep track by e-mail or subscribe to the Stomper Blog RSS.
Not for Beginers
I won’t lie to you, if you’re a beginner, this is a little too intermediate stuff. So if you don’t know basic things like what’s SEO, why you need it, what the word “conversion” means, or why traffic is the be-all-end-all of sales on the internet, then brush up on your basics, with an internet marketing dictionary, first (a very good free resource, in it’s own right and the newest addition to the Hotlist). After you jump this hurdle, it’s time to go over to StomperNet and wrap your heads around all the amazing information Jenkins can cram in one half of an hour.
What’s the big deal about Going Natural 2.0?
I can honestly say I have never run into such in-depth and specific SEO advise. I have yet to land on a guru that covers SEO, by talking about all aspects of a website. Being an obsessive aesthetician, I especially enjoyed this week’s addition, which explains, in minute detail, the effects of design on your conversion rate.
Another beautiful thing that goes on behind the scenes of Going Natural 2.0 is research. These people are not talking out their ass (pardon my French
)- they test and tweak and test and tweak and come back with conclusive results. The information they are giving is much more cause and effect than anything else I have yet to hear. Why blogs are a Google favorite, for example? Would you believe it has something to do with the number of words in an entry compared to the number of words on your sidebar? (That’s in a very simplified nutshell- for the full details watch last weeks addition.)
More Free Content
As a none-member of StomperNet, you can also access the Faculty Newsletter (posted right under the video). It’s a long line of articles that talk about all the specific problems that arise, in the process of building an e-business. In many ways it’s almost like a step-by-step guide.
StomperNet has, yet again, raised the bar on free content. At this point, I’m finding it hard to understand what “secrets” the gurus can sell me, if they give so much gold for free.
Merry christmas to all my readers, working their butts off. May 2008 be more prosperous than 2007!

Tali,
I couldn’t agree with you more. StomperNet is GREAT! I just love Ed Dale… some folks my remember him from the 30 Day Challenge. That was also free and jam packed with excellent content.
