The entanglements of every day life will always stir you away from the big picture. For us, as human beings, the biggest picture is our earth. How can we, internet marketers, do something small to help out big-time?
#10 Commit yourself
Register and commit your blog at Blog Action Day and write a blog post on an environmental issue, today.
#9 Education
How will you be able do something about the environment, if you don’t know it’s in trouble? The Blog Action Day resource page has a list of sights that will keep you up to date with what’s going on. Most of them are RSSable, so you don’t really have to make an effort after you subscribe- the green news will come to you!
#8 Do on to others
Ok, you’re RSSed something, you find really environmentally important. Don’t just send a link to your mother! Digg it! Stumble it! Del.icio.us it! Twitter it! It’s important and people need to know.
#7 Wear a ribbon
I know, you can’t pin ribbons to your computer screen and, frankly, that wouldn’t really help.
But what you can do is have a link, or better yet, a badge or banner of at least one environmental organization on your blog. Find a group or site that resonates with you and look for a badge on their site.
#6 Donate
Hook up with an environmental group and donate some of your blog/business proceeds. Letting people know, some of their money is going to this good cause, does actually tilt the scales in your favor, when the choice of purchase is being made. Plus it makes you look good.
#5 Feel like a snack?
Have a peanut-butter an jelly sandwich! Really. I’m not Kidding.
#4 Get Green Marketing Information
Now that you’ve rejuvenated with your green snack, give a quick peak to the Sustainable Marketing Blog, all you need to know about green marketing.
#3 Office environment
Get green office supplies at The Green Office.
#2 Seeing the light
That lamp on your desk could use a compact fluorescent light bulb.
#1 At the end of the day
Shut down your computer and monitor when the workday is over. This single action will result in the most energy savings.
