Heather Vale is one clever affiliate marketer. Using her own set of skills, she manages to make the most creative affiliate site, I’ve ever seen.

It’s very easy to make a video nowadays, so most people forget there are other options. Audio recordings are, surly, not as attractive as video, but I find that they have a time saving benefit to the listener. To watch a video you have to stop what you’re doing and focus on it. An audio recording can be downloaded to your ipod or mp3 device and you can listen to it on your morning jog or while you’re driving. Definitely something worth-while, for an information marketer, to look at.

Heather Vale (new on the Hotlist) uses audio for her affiliate site, Internet Marketing Unwrapped. She started her media career in 1993 and her internet career at 1991. I never heard of her until now, so to me all she is, is one of the cleverest internet marketing affiliates, I’ve ever stumbled upon.

Free internet marketing lessons in audio
Vale’s site, is an affiliate site. You do have to opt-in and you do have to stand for affiliate offers in your mailbox. Although I recommend holding on to this subscription, because Vale also gives out some useful tips and sends you off to many free reports.

After you’ve opted-in, you are lead to a page with a list of links. Each link will lead you to an interview which Vale has done with a different celebrity internet marketer. The interviews are completely free and sometimes you can even download, what Vale calls, a “Cheat Sheet”. This is a PDF file of a form, for you to take notes, while you listen to the interview. (My didactic side can’t help but adore this tiny detail )

Smart Affiliating
Vale’s shrewdness is in that her affiliate site is not just a long-copy-squeeze-page. Internet Marketing Unwrapped (although lacking in design) is well developed content wise, and you could spend hours on it, just to go through all the audio interviews and download the mp3’s. This, of course, gives her prospects the sense of much value (Now is a good time to mention that, personally, I found that the big, fat, yellow For FREE (A $947 VALUE) only lowered my perception of the product’s value.)

Each interview is strategically placed, on an individual squeeze page, which is part of the Internet Marketing Unwrapped site. This is very smart SEO wise: Instead of having one page for Google to crawl, Vale, now, has over 30 crawlable pages! This means that, inherently, not only can she be found on over 30 pages (the more the merrier, seeing as each page has it’s own individual meta tags), but her site also has more authority, as far as the search engines are concerned.

Using what you got
Another thing Vale does judiciously, is utilizing her prior skills with the media and leveraging it in affiliate marketing. As I’ve mentioned before, she has a background in media production and live interviews. Her interviews are with the big-fish of internet marketing. The list of interviewees is a very impressive one: Joel Comm, Mike Filsaime, Tim Knox, Michel Fortin, Derek Gehl, Yanik Silver, Perry Marshall and the list goes on. The celebrity status of her interviewees has a many advantages in building trust and SEO.The beauty of Internet Marketing Unwrapped is that Vale has found a surprisingly creative way to affiliate herself with an endless array of products, without it seeming cheap or opportunistic and without loosing her focus on her niche market. You can learn a lot from Vale about making a variety of relevant content that is valuable to her niche market.

Heather Vale’s Internet Marketing Unwrapped is a rich audio content site and is in itself a poignant example of savvy internet marketing.
